Local girls work it down the runway
By Angelica Morrison / [email protected]

Lockportian Jamie Zglinicki and other local girls and guys will be strutting their stuff during the annual Fall Fashion Extravaganza on Oct. 14.

Before Zglinicki does her thing on the runway, she has to try the clothes on first. She and other local women were trying on formal wear at ElaineÕs Formals and Bridals on Main Street in Lockport in preparation for the show.

ÒI think it would be fun. IÕm excited,Ó said Zglinicki.

Lois Bateman, wife of Wilson Village Mayor Thomas Bateman, was trying on a spaghetti-strapped long gown with a criss-crossed back.

When it comes to sashaying down the runway, Bateman is a pro.

ÒI was in the fashion show in Õ98,Ó she said. ÒItÕs very nice.Ó

The fund-raiser is held to benefit Inter-Community Memorial Hospital in Newfane, and was held at the Rib House in Newfane last year. This year, models will be sashaying at the Wilson House in Wilson.
