BUFFALO -- Bruce G. Bryski won't be surprised if tonight's vice presidential debate again changes the polls.
The associate professor of communication at Buffalo State College said, once again, candidate perception will be the key.
"A lot are looking to see if (Democratic candidate John) Edwards is going to be presidential material," he said, noting he would be next in line if something were to happen to running mate Sen. John Kerry.
On Monday, a poll by the Gallup Organization in Princeton, N.J., indicated presidential candidates Kerry and George W. Bush were on an even keel, tied at 49 percent among likely voters. Prior to ThursdayÕs debate, Bush led Kerry by an eight-point margin of 52 to 44 percent.
The explanation for the numbers: The debates gave underdog Kerry momentum.
"It made him look more presidential," Bryski said.
