Delphi earnings down
Staff and wire reports
Thursday, October 07, 2026

Delphi Corp. earnings are down further than expected in the third quarter and a company spokesman says lingering issues at the Lockport plant are playing a role in the company’s overall performance.

The Troy, Mich.,-based company expects to post a net loss of $113 million to $120 million for the July-to-September period, versus a previous forecasted loss of $10 million to $40 million.

“The Lockport operation is a major contributor to the losses,” Lindsey C. Williams, manager of corporate affairs, said Wednesday.

While not tagging a fixed dollar amount of blame on the Lockport site, Williams said longstanding issues of efficiency at the Upper Mountain Road plant feed into the corporation’s overall lackluster quarterly showing.

A culture change is needed in both the Lockport plant’s manufacturing and its administration, he said. Headquarters has identified cutting waste, reducing costs and improving quality as key goals.

I've heard from friends who work there about what they get away with. No wonder GM's cost so much. And they fall apart so easily. One will never be in this driveway.

Can' wait to leave. (10/10/2026)

They can't compete in after market products cause you could bye one for half the costs. So much scrap people doing nothing it is sucking all of Delphi profits they should sell or close some building they can't make money by paying 26 dollars an by putting 2 screws in.

What a joke! How about reducing pay for doing nothing. $26+ an hour to do what? You get what's coming. Sooner or later the well will run dry. Do yourself a favor, buy a riceburner.

People who are off line fork truck, maintence, supplymen etc. Leave the plant tru a different door come back later in another door having hour off plus. I don't know how they ever made money in the first place. Its a joke. I get paid doing very little.
