Daniel Marvin sentenced, ending twisted family tale

Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza admitted Thursday that sending Daniel Marvin away to prison for a long time wasn’t a difficult decision.

Marvin, 17, 320 Green St., could spend the next 13 years behind bars after being sentenced to three separate consecutive prison terms and a fourth concurrent term for sexually abusing four young females.

“The problem is you know no other world than the world your father created for you and your family,” Sperrazza told Marvin. Marvin’s father Richard Marvin, was sentenced to in June to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of attempted first-degree rape and one count of second-degree rape. His cases also involved young girls. Sperrazza acknowledged that while Richard Marvin had hurt many people, he had hurt his son the most.

“He somehow turned you into a junior version of himself,” the judge told Daniel Marvin.
