TO REMEMBER ME
By Robert N. Trent
Give my sight to the man who has never seen
a sunrise, a baby' s face or love in the
eyes of a woman. Give my heart to a person
whose own heart has caused nothing but
endless days of pain. Give my blood to the
teenager who was pulled from the wreckage
of his car so that he might live to see his
grandchildren play. Give my kidneys to one
who depends on a machine to exist from week
to week. Take my every muscle, every fiber
and nerve in my body and find a way to make
a crippled child walk. If you must bury
something, let it be my faults, my
weaknesses, and all prejudice against my
fellow man. Give my sins to the devil. Give
my soul to God. If by chance, you wish to
remember me, do it with a kind deed or word
to someone who needs you. If you do all I
have asked, I will live forever.

The family of William K. "Bill" Vernon
would like to thank the staffs of Memorial
and Parkview hospitals and Gundrum Funeral
Home for the fine care of our loved one. To
the many who called, came to hospital, sent
food and drinks to the house, the many
cards, letters of encouragement, flowers,
and especially the prayers, we thank you.
To those who waited so long in line to give
us a hug and condolences, we are very
grateful.
To Rev. Tim McKaig and Rev. Dr. Horace
Smith, we thank you for the loving tribute
and service done for our loved one.
To Joe Ulery, thank you for the beautiful
singing and know that you have a special
place in my heart.
To Mr. Brock, Miss Dean, Faculty, Staff,
and Administration, we couldn' t have made
it through such a difficult time without
your prayers, love, support and
assistance.
To all who made donations at Security
Federal to the Scholarship Fund, we are
amazed at the generosity of all of you.
Bill' s memory will live on in all the kids
we will be able to help with higher
education. And last of all, to Bills'
students, we thank you for the display
case, the notes, cards, gifts, tailgate
party following the service, and most of
all for your love of Bill. To the parents,
you should be very proud of all of them as
I know Bill was. I now know why he was so
close to all of you and happy to be at
Pioneer. If we have forgotten anyone,
please accept our apologies and know we are
very grateful to all of you.
