Niagara Falls residents will soon be feeling the heat. This time though, the weather outside won’t be the only cause.
On Friday (June 11), Main Street business owners will host the “Summer Sizzler,” an event that they hope will rekindle fond memories of the commercial strip by showing off the best of what it still has to offer.
“The perception is that nothing exists on Main Street, but the reality is the opposite, we have some great places,” said Laurie Davis, vice president of the Main Street Business and Professional Association.
The Orchard Grill and Cactus Jack’s, two area restaurants, will act as hosts of the street festival and offer a variety of foods from their menus. Entertainment will also be provided. The CRS band will perform classic rock songs from 6 to 9 p.m. and a face-painter and bounce house will be at the event for children. While Davis hopes that people will come for the music and activities, she invites people to stay for the food.
Cactus Jack’s, located on 921 Main St., will be serving steamed clams and a buffet-style sampling of their Mexican menu.
“We just want to invite everyone to come out and enjoy some great food and entertainment,” said Jack Hormung, the owner of Cactus Jack’s.
The event is free and open to all ages.
