Businessman robbed at work at gunpoint

ARGOS Residents in Ar-gos are upset over the brazen mugging and beating of a local businessman Monday.

Thefts and burglaries are becoming too common in too many areas, according to the latest figures, but Steven W. Dimmitt did not expect to be beaten and robbed during daylight hours in his own business.

According to a report from Marshall County Police officer Rick Kanarr, Dimmitt said that while he was working in his auto salvage yard, two male suspects approached him and battered him.

The subjects allegedly had handguns. They stole Dim-mitts wallet at gunpoint and severely beat him.

The suspects allegedly struck Dimmitt several times in the head with their weapons in addition to punching him.

After the suspects fled with an undetermined amount of cash, Dimmitt was able to call for help using his cell phone.

Argos EMS, Argos Police and Marshall County Police responded, Dimmitt was transported to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic males.

Police are looking for anyone who may have seen two Hispanic males fleeing the area of the salvage yard about 4:30 p.m.
