Another Pharmacy Hit
Pilot News Staff Report
KNOX Knox Police are looking for a gunman who marched into the CVS Pharmacy Monday and held the business up for prescription drugs.
Knox Police Chief Rick Chambers said a male subject went into the pharmacy, located on South Heaton Street, about 8:57 p.m. Monday and demanded prescription drugs. Chambers did not say what type of drugs the robber was after.
The subject did brandish a handgun, but no shots were fired and no one was injured.
The suspect fled the building on foot.
Police believe he jumped into a getaway vehicle that might be dark blue with a loud exhaust. The vehicle put out a great deal of smoke.
Chambers said the suspect is described to be approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He has short red hair with sideburns. He was described as having acne.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery is urged to contact the Knox Police Department or the Starke County Sheriffs Department.
This year there have been several area pharmacies hit by armed robbers wanting prescription drugs.
The CVS Pharmacy in Plymouth was robbed earlier this year. The gunman demanded all the oxycontin in the pharmacy. They fled on foot and jumped into a getaway vehicle.
