High-Speed Chase Ends With Marijuana Bust

CULVER � Indiana State Trooper Ryan Lebo would like to know why an Indianapolis man wanted to use US 31 as his personal drag strip, but Lebo did not have time to ask questions.
Lebo clocked a black Nissan Maxima flying northbound on US 31 near 18th Road at 133 miles an hour. Lebo was able to initiate a traffic stop where he arrested 18-year-old Ian Brown on the spot for reckless driving.
A further investigation of Brown and his vehicle led to Brown�s arrest for possession of marijuana, under to 30 grams and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Brown was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked on the charges.
Police were happy to get the teenager off the road. Someone under the influence driving at that high rate of speed could have easily lost control of their vehicle at any moment.
Police said the odds of surviving a crash at that speed are slim and none.
