Candidates for town offices will not be on the 2003 primary ballot. The candidates can file from now until their town convention, if necessary.

If more than one person from the same party files for a town office, that political party conducts a convention to select a candidate for the November election.

The council seats in each of the communities are at-large seats which means the entire town votes for each seat. Plymouth is the only city that still has districts. There is one at-large seat on the Plymouth Council.

In Argos there are three at-large seats on the ballot. The three Democrat incumbents Steve Hissong, Mark Umbaugh and Todd VanDerWeele have not made any announcements regarding the local election.

The town received grants for a Garden Court, a community/senior center and the Center Street project.

Theres still so much to do, Murphy added. Once you see things get started, you want to see them through, make sure everything goes alright.

Two Republicans on the Bourbon Council, Donna Wag-ner and Larry Wattenbarger, have not declared candidacies for re-elction

Culver Clerk-Treasurer Chan-dra Mevis said she is leaning toward running for a second term in office.

Mevis is a Democrat. She wants to see the town switch to a new computer software that will make the entire office more efficient.

There are some things I would like to see completed, Mevis stated.

Democrat Ralph Winters and Republican Barbara Behnke have not made an announcement regarding the 2003 election.

LaPaz Clerk-Treasurer Jan Harris could not be reached for comment.

All three council seats which are held by Democrats Edgar Clifton, Donella Emmons and Linda Tyler are on the ballot. They have not declared.
