KNOX � The 26th Annual Bi-County Track and Field Meet, hosted by Oregon-Davis, was held at Knox High School on Friday, April 26. The Lady Bobcats of Oregon-Davis won their second straight title while the Winamac Warriors won their 13th consecutive title.
Oregon-Davis and Winamac were not the only teams to enjoy success on the night as North Judson-San Pierre saw some success of their own. The 3200 meter relay team of Julie Danford, Beth Warkentien, Jenny Danford and Nicole Dobson posted a new record time of 10:48.32. For the second straight year, North Judson�s Jennifer Holbrook set a 200 meter dash record, eclipsing last year�s record of 26.73 with a new time of 26.44.
Holbrook�s success didn�t stop in the 200, as she won the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.74 before becoming the girls top points individual of the night. Holbrook took second in the long jump but also teamed up with Meredith Altman, Bailey Fortner and Jenny Danford for a top time of 52.96 in the 400 meter relay.
A successful night couldn�t have been completed with an outstanding performance from Winamac�s Mike Haschel. For the second straight year, Haschel came away as the boy�s top points indiviual after winning all three distance runs and being the anchor of the winning 3200 meter relay team. The senior won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:02.9 while posting times of 4:38.64 and 10:30.13 in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs.
Helping push the Lady Bobcats to the title was Candace Trent with her top throw and new school record of 110� 7 1/2� in the discus. Whitney Trent found two first place ribbons in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs with times of 6:05.19 and 13:27.98 respectively as Amanda Harris provided a top time of 1:02.21 in the 400 meter dash. Laura Kensinger won the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 49.34 as sister Shari Kensinger won the 800 meter run in a time of 2:41.81.
For the Knox Lady Redskins, Crystal Taulbee and Dawn Fletcher each won an event on the night. Taulbee posted a winning toss of 32� 7� in the shot put as Fletcher won the high jump with a height of 5� 0�. Winamac�s Sarah Hazemi made a bid for top honors as she won the long jump with a length of 16� 1/4� and the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 16.17.
Also winning for the Warriors were Brian Kennedy and Josh Rife. Kennedy won the 400 meter dash in a time of 54.94 as Rife took top honors in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 44.21.
For the second place Redskins, Josh Snyder won the long jump with a length of 20� 2� while anchoring the winning 400 meter relay team of Bobby Tincau, Nathan Welter and Nick Walter. Tyler Moore won the high jump with a height of 5� 10� as Phil Hamand cruised to a winning height of 10� 6� in the pole vault.
The Bluejays of North Judson didn�t come away empty handed as Dan McGowen won twice and Larry Wappel picked up a first place ribbon. McGowen swept the shot put and discus with distances of 46� 2 1/2� and 119� respectively as Wappel raced to a winning time of 16.42 in the 110 meter hurdles.

NSC meet
KNOX � The Knox track and field teams hosted Northern State Conference foe Bremen and rival Winamac last Tuesday. The Lady Lions scored 71 points as Knox edged Winamac 49-36 for second. In the boys meet, Winamac prevailed with 66 points while Bremen and Knox tallied 54 and 47 points respectively.
Leading the Lady Redskins on the night was Crystal Taulbee with wins in the discus and shot put. Taulbee found a throw of 85� 6� in the discus while posting a distance of 31� 7� in the shot put. Jenny Thomas added a high jump win with a height of 5� 1� as Jenny Jenkins found a time of 2:44.42 to win the 800 meter run. Charity Strunc provided two second place finishes and a third place ribbon on the night.
Sarah Hazemi won both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles to pace the Lady Warriors.
With his jump of 5� 10� in the high jump, Tyler Moore found the lone win for the Redskins. The 3200 meter relay team of Nathan Welter, Seth King, Nathaniel Bourff and Ryan Stewart won with a time of 8:56.32 as the 400 meter relay team of Bobby Tincau, Nick Walter, Josh Snyder and Welter posted a top time of 45.97. Tincau added two second place finishes while Snyder found a second and third place finish.
Mike Hascel won all three distance runs while Josh Rife swept the 110 and 300 meter hurdles to lead the Warriors.

Knox girls and boys win
KNOX � The Knox track and field teams hosted Kouts Thursday. The Lady Redskins doubled up Kouts 82-41 as the Redskins ran away with a 89-41 win.
Charity Strunc paced the Lady Redskins on the night as a triple winner as Kaley Fornelli and Crystal Taulbee were both double winners. Strunc found a length of 14� 8� in the long jump before posting times of 18.3 and 52.5 in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles. Fornelli swept the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 13.5 and 28.7 as Taulbee found throws of 89� 9� and 31� 1� in the discus and shot put respectively.
Dawn Fletcher added a winning height of 5� 1� in the high jump before taking third in the 200 dash. Teammate Jenny Thomas finished second behind Fletcher in the high jump as well as seconds in the 100 and 200 dashes. Angel Grounds provided seconds in the shot put and 400 meter dash while Autumn Ferch supplied a secon in the 300 hurdles.
Leading the Redskins was Josh Snyder as a triple winner while Cory Masson and Phil Hamand each won twice. Snyder won the long jump with a length of 19� 8 1/2� before sweeping the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 11.32 and 24.18 respectively. Masson won the 1600 and 3200 meter runs with times of 5:01.42 and 11:27.16 while providing a third in the 300 meter hurdles. Meanwhile, Hamand found a first place height of 9� 6� in the pole vault and a top time of 48.65 in the 300 hurdles.
Tyler Moore supplied a winning height of 5� 10� in the high jump as Ryan Stewart won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:15.49. Bobby Tincau took second behind Snyder in both sprints as Nick Walter grabbed seconds in the 110 hurdles and the 400 meter dash. Kyle Keiper chipped in several points by taking second in the high jump and third in the 400 dash for the Redskins.

Lady Bobcats win NAC again
HOBART � The Oregon-Davis track and field teams ventured to River Forest Friday night for the Northland Athletic Conference Meet. The Lady Bobcats ran away from the competition for the title as the Bobcats posted a third place finish.
Making it easy for Oregon-Davis to win the title, the Lady Bobcats won all but four events highlighted by Amanda Harris� sweep of the sprints. Harris won the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.39 and followed it with top times of 27.72 and 1:03.13 in the 200 and 400 meter dashes. Laura Kensinger swept the 100 and 300 meter hurdles with times of 17.04 and 50.12 respectively while taking third in the discus. Whitney Trent was also a double winner by posting times of 5:57.59 and 13:33.40 in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs.
Britta Johnson supplied several points with her high jump win of 4� 10� along with her sixth in the 1600 meter run as Shari Kensinger provided a first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:51.65. Oregon-Davis also won both the 1600 and 3200 meter relays on the night.
Candace Trent chipped in a second place throw in the discus while Emily Lawrence was several steps behind Shari Kensinger in the 800 run. Candi Rust found a third in the 100 hurdles while taking fourth in both the 100 dash and long jump with Melissa Armfield and Heather Sweeney finished third and fifth respectively in the shot put.
Leading the way for the Bobcats on the night was Matt Baughman with four individal ribbons. Baughman took second in the 300 meter hurdles after taking third in the 110 hurdles while placing fourth in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Seth Dickson followed up his second in the high jump with a fourth place finish in the long jump.
Ryan Smith grabbed a second in the shot put before adding a fifth in the 400 meter dash and a sixth in the 200 dash. Luke Davison provided a second in the discus and a fifth in the shot put as Chad Luse went third and fifth in the pole vault. Luse also found a sixth place finish in the 3200 meter run while Collins took sixth in the 800 meter run.
