Anglemyer to run for clerk-treasurer

By Holly Heller

Managing Editor

BREMEN Bremen Clerk-Treasurer Janet Anglemyer is running for another term.

She filed for candidacy Friday, with one major goal in mind.

As clerk-treasurer, I will strive to maintain the sound financial stability which our community has established, she said.

She plans to do that through continual, day-to-day learning.

I have dedicated myself to the learning process involved with being clerk-treasurer, she said. My motto has always been that each day brings with it a new learning experience. This position stands true there are new situations that present themselves every day requiring a greater understanding and gain of knowledge.

Anglemyer is currently completing the second year of her two-year term. Prior to that, Janet served two terms on the Bremen Town Council, where she earned the honor of being Bremens first female council member and president. She also brings to the position five years experience as Bremen Park Board secretary and two years as a board member of the Marshall County Community Foundation.

Prior to her clerk-treasurer position, Anglemyer worked at Martin Chevrolet for 26 years as accounting business manager, controller and general manager.

She finds the clerk-treasurer position to be rewarding.

The responsibilities and duties associated with this ofice have been nothing less than exciting and rewarding.

She hopes to lead Bremen through the challenges of the upcoming reassessment and budgeting.

Coordination of revenues and expenditures will be extremely important, she said. I would like the opportunity to pursue this challenge and assist in managing the changes that face our community.

A Bremen native and 1975 graduate of Bremen High School, Anglemyer completed advanced education courses in accounting and computer technology at Ancilla College in 1993-94.

She and husband Virgil have been married for 26 years and have two sons Aaron, 23, is studying marketing at IUPUI in Indianapolis and Andrew, 20, is a junior finance major at Anderson University.

Janet is a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church and currently serves as vice president of the Bremen Kiwanis Club. She also serves on the Rebuilding Together/Christmas in April - Marshall County Board of Directors.
