Victim Willing To Pay To Catch Vandals

Pilot News

ARGOS Dave Carr is so sick of vandalism on his property, he is prepared to pay a reward for

information leading to the suspect or suspects responsible.

Carr said his property has been vandalized or stolen six times in the past 18 months.

Im sick of it, Carr said. Ive talked to the police. Now Im ready to offer a reward, hoping that will put an end to this.

Argos Police Chief Gary Cook said he is aware of some of the problems Carr is having, but vandalism cases

can be tough to crack unless you catch the vandals in the act or have a witness willing to testify.

Carr is disabled. He has had his lawn, vehicle and home vandalized numerous times.

They have egged my Jeep, taken CDs, Carr said.

Ive had stuff broken or taken out of my yard. At times it has been little, hard to notice stuff, but

when they egg your Jeep, that is expensive to fix.

Carr said he is a person that keeps to himself and has not done anything to prompt the vandalism against his

property.

Carr came up with the idea for the reward thinking someone who knows the vandals will step forward with the cash. The information will then assist police with leads.

Carr is willing to pay $500 to catch the vandal or vandals. If any of the crimes were felonies,

CrimeStoppers could also add to that amount of reward money.

Anyone with information can call the Argos Police Department (574) 892-5122.
