County Police Looking for Hit And Run Driver

Pilot News Staff Report

ARGOS Marshall County Police are still searching for the motorist who struck a person on a bicycle and fled the scene last week.

The alleged hit and run took place about 6:41 p.m. on Indiana 10 near Ironwood Road, about one mile east of Argos, according to county police.

The person on the bike was traveling west on Indiana 10.

She was riding on the white line on the edge of the highway. The motorist was also west bound on Indiana 10 when the driver struck the bike rider and continued west.

The cyclist was not seriously injured but police are concerned about any motorist that would strike a person and then flee the scene.

The victim described the driver as a white male with short hair. He was driving a sports-type car with a front that sloped down, according to the police

report.

There were no other vehicles in the area at the time. Police are hoping someone spotted the

motorist leaving that area in a hurry on Wednesday evening.

The impact shattered the mirror on the bike. The victim was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle to be treated for minor injuries.

Anyone with information regarding the accident is urged to contact the Marshall County Police (574) 936-3187.
