PLYMOUTH A Plymouth woman arrested for attempting to steal money from her childs trust fund will not spend any time in jail.
Sandra K. Woolley was originally charged with one Class C felony count of forgery and one Class D felony count of theft. The charges were filed May 28, 2002.
Woolley and her former boyfriend, Brad Trump, have a child. Trump committed suicide in 2002. After his death, a trust fund was established for the young child.
Woolley attempted to take money from the trust fund account.
Court documents state Woolley attempted to transfer the entire trust fund, which was $22,000 at the time, from a bank in Bourbon into a joint account at a bank in Plymouth. The action alerted bank officials, who contacted the police.
Following an investigation, an incident report was filed with the Marshall County Prosecutor who filed forgery and attempted theft charges.
Woolley accepted a plea deal where the attempted theft charge was dismissed. Woolley pleaded guilty to the single count of forgery, which carries a prison sentence of three to eight years and/or a $5,000 fine.
Marshall County Superior Court No. 1 Judge Robert O. Bowen sentenced Woolley to 4 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections, but suspended all but four days of the term.
Bowen gave Woolley two years reporting probation, 20 hours community services, counseling, and court costs.
The child is now five-years- old. He continues to live with Woolley. The trust fund remains in the Bourbon bank to be used by the boy when he turns 18.
Trumps family obtained court-ordered visitation with the child, which allows them to see the boy on a consistent basis.
