PLYMOUTH The Plymouth Police Department is looking for a Hispanic male who allegedly robbed the Papa Johns Pizza outlet early Saturday.
Employees at Papa Johns told police a lone gunman entered the restaurant, located at 1625 North Michigan Street, about 12:30 a.m. The suspect allegedly brandished his weapon and demanded money.
The employees complied with the demand. The robber ran out the back door of Papa Johns with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured during the holdup. The back door of Papa Johns leads to a parking area.
There is also a large mobile home court in the vicinity. On the west side of the mobile home court there is a north-south pathway that leads to Harrison Street to the south and goes north to Hoham Drive (7C Road).
Police officers searched the area, but the suspect escaped. Employees describe the robber as 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black wig and dyed his goatee purple. He also wore a baseball cap and black coat.
Police are hoping someone saw a suspicious person running in the area, possibly to a waiting getaway vehicle.
The holdup is the first armed robbery in the city since the Shell gas station-convenience store was robbed at gunpoint earlier this year.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery is urged to contact the Plymouth Police Department at 574-936-2126 or call Crime Stoppers at 800-342-STOP.
