Store closed when wreck happened

By Carol Anders

PLYMOUTH Fortunately Milady Salon on Gilmore St., Plymouth was closed on Monday when a car out of control crashed through the front windows of the salon, directly into the waiting room area, where customers would normally be seated.

A Fife Street resident told police at the scene that her brakes failed causing her to loose control of the vehicle. She was transported from the scene to the hospital for medical care.

Jim Vinall, who owns the salon with his wife Judy, was notified that an alarm was going off at the business. Vinall said he never expected to see a car sitting inside the building. He said the police and a fire truck were there when he arrived.

Vinall said he had the two 6 by 8 feet windows replaced as well as other damage before E-mailing his wife who is out of town visiting relatives.

Vinall said, "Every time she leaves something happens!

Vinall said it was a blessing that the shop was empty at the time of the accident, which remains under investigation.
