Editorial: T-NT really should be a Classic
Our View
Wednesday, October 20, 2026

One team is undefeated and ranked fourth in the state in its class.

The other continues to gain momentum after a season-opening loss.

Does it get any better than Friday’s T-NT Classic?

Old timers will be willing to argue, but this has the potential to rank near the top of the greatest games this storied rivalry has ever seen. And as has been the case in recent years, it still has the makings of the David vs. Goliath battle that has piqued interest for years.

Can Tonawanda’s formulaic ground game penetrate a bigger defensive front from North Tonawanda? And can the Lumberjacks use a deeper roster to wear down the Warriors in the second half?

It’s too tough to call, but that’s what makes game day so much fun.

The weather forecast looks great, both cities are buzzing and a number of good storylines have already popped to the surface. How about the Tonawanda groundskeeper refusing to add frills due to superstition?

As residents of the Tonawandas, we often get so bogged down in the negative that it’s easy to forget all the fun your friends who left the area wish they could still take part in.

Don’t miss Friday’s T-NT game.

As our daughter is currently experiencing her first high school homecoming week, I have shared fond memories of all the functions leading up to the ultimate footgame of the year! Being connected to the military, it has been difficult to return home to attend the T-NT game for a number of years. However, I have been keeping up with the news via the internet. To all those who are able to attend and participate, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. You will be creating such wonderful memories, ones that you will never forget and will share with your families later in life. Give them heck NT!!!!! NT rules!!!!!

I'm a senior at Tonawanda, and while there is a lot of negative going on, from the negative, comes a lot of positive. During football season, there is a lot of rivalry, but during the other seasons, there are a lot of friendships that form and build. For example, during wrestling season, Tonawanda and NT have a practice together once in a while. There's no rivalry at all. Then come TNT week, between those friends, there's just a lot of teasing. TNT week is a great experience for high school kids, families, and alumni.

God, I wish I could be there. Go Jacks.
