Programs allow agencies to practice response skills
A combination free concert and emergency exercise will provide and opportunity for Crawford County public safety agencies to practice their response skills and the public to attend a free concert at the Crawford County Fairgrounds.
Today at 6:30 p.m. the band Usual Suspects will provide two hours of classic rock entertainment on the main stage of the Crawford County fairgrounds. The band will be performing as part of a public safety exercise which will provide responders an opportunity to work in simulated real conditions. Victims of the exercise will be part of the concert crowd and will give responders the task of working in conditions which include loud music and large crowds and successfully removing the victims to an evaluation area.
This exercise is being done as part of the countys disaster exercise requirement and to exercise the fairs emergency plan in preparation for this years upcoming fair.
The public attending this free concert will have the opportunity to not only enjoy the concert, but to also see our emergency service agencies in action as they respond and work to resolve the problems they will be confronted with at this exercise.
Refreshments can be purchased on the fairgrounds for those attending the concert. No coolers or containers will be permitted in the grandstand, no alcohol will be permitted on the fairgrounds.
