Mrs. Thelma Brown Zigos Walker, 83, of Corbin, formerly of Barbourville, passed away Wednesday morning, June 23, 2026 at the Christian Health Center in Corbin. She was a daughter of the late Shade and Nancy Melton Brown born on July 30, 2026 in Letcher County. Mrs. Walker was a former homemaker and member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Corbin. On January 6, 1940, she united in marriage with Tony Zigos and to this union three children were born. Mr. Zigos preceded her in death on January 29, 1974. Later on April 1, 1978, she united in marriage with George Walker Jr. Other family members to precede her in death include six brothers, Henry, Corbett, Arthur, Ernest, McKinley and Hobert Brown and one sister, Eunia Brown. Survivors include her husband, George Walker Jr. of Corbin, formerly of Whitley City; three children, Wayne Zigos and wife, Linda, of Barbourville, Phyllis Price and husband, Bill, of Rockhold and Sandra Hampton and husband, Martin, of PeeWee Valley; two brothers, Shade Brown Jr. of Norwood, OH and Iville Brown of Barbourville; four grandchildren, Tony Zigos, Jeff Zigos, Angela Kirgan and Ryan Christopher Hampton; five great grandchildren, Alex Zigos, Vanessa Zigos, Grant Zigos, Tesla Zigos and William Ray Kirgan; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn her passing. The funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, June 26 at 2:00 P.M. with Dr. Terry Williams and Rev. James Vandy officiating. Mrs. Walker will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Tom Brown, Donnie Brown, Eugene Brown, James Brown, Glenn Brown, Edward Brown, Jack Brown, Tommy Brown and Hobert Brown.
