Ms. Juanita C. Grooms, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2026 at her home at the Pine Knot Manor on Meadows Grove Road. She was 76 years, 11 months and 25 days old. Funeral services were held Thursday April 14, 2026 in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey Logan and Rev. Tim Stephens officiating. She was laid to rest in the Josh Wilson Cemetery. Ms. Grooms was born in McCreary County, on April 14, 1928, the daughter of the late Richard Wilson and Flora Jane Duncan. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother James Abb Crabtree, Jr., and a sister Eloise Siler. Surviving family include two sons, Robert Lee Duncan of Strunk, Kentucky, and Richard Len Goins and his wife Sun OK, of APG, Maryland, and a daughter Rita Louise Corey of Clarkston, Washington. There are four sisters, Floda D. Neal of Pine Knot, Jimmie Stanley of Virginia, Flora Earline Sullivan of Michigan and Rena Carol Archuleta of California. She had eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Juanita had last worked at the Blue Heron Inn at Revelo as a waitress until she was no longer able to work. She was a member of the Hayes Creek Church of God. Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
