Reader Comments Stephen (5/6/2026) Your right Coach Denny was a good Coach, and a great grounds keeper. But he also played his favoriate players and not the right players, and sadly the McCreary Baseball team has went down hill since then. The only player that still plays is Michael McGilton, I was in Japan a couple years ago and he was playing, it was great to see one of our old players playing in another country. These are the type of players we need in the Hall of fame, all we have now is a Hall Of Favoriates. Jeff (5/2/2026) Stephen I agree with you some, I graduated with Joe, at that time he was the first and only baseball player to play for a d-1 school from McCreary Central, I also think Coach Denny should be in there. Stephen (5/2/2026) What a Joke. What Happened to Mike Gilreath, Joe Lindsey, Mark Sumnler, Roger Gilreath (RIP)and Michael McGilton, these were all great players. I watched all of these player in the 80's and out of all of them, Coach Denny liked them all except one, and he kept that person off the team his senior year. There was one guy here who had more talent that anyone I had ever seen, but didn't have anyone to work with him. But I heard he is still playiing fast pitch baseball, and he getting close to 40. The guys listed here deserve to be in McCreary's Hall of Fame. What a Joke. Jeff (4/27/2005) Greg, how do you know this?
