Charlene Carroll, age 83 years, 3 months, and 13 days, of Oneida, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2026 at Scott County Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, Tennessee with Rev. Philip Kazee and Rev. Martha Anne Fairchild officiating. Burial followed in the Pine Knot Cemetery. She was born January 3, 2026 in Perry County, Kentucky to Emanuel Hughes and Rosa Lee Jones Hughes. Charlene moved to McCreary County in 1965, she was a homemaker and before her retirement she was an office worker at Columbus Mining Company. She attended the Pine Knot Christian Church and was a member of the McCreary County Development Association. Preceding her in death were her parents, her stepmother, Sitha Smith Hughes, her husband, G. Ed Carroll, whom she married on December 18, 1943, two brothers, Don Hughes and Darrell Hughes, and a sister, Joyce Grigsby. Survivors include a son, Kraig L. Carroll, of Stearns, Kentucky, two daughters, Sharon Lynn Tedesco and her husband, John, of Salinas, California, and Karen Aldredge and her husband, Neil, of Oneida, Tennessee, three brothers, Richard Hughes, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Eddie Hughes, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Billy Hughes, of Sharpsburg, Kentucky, six sisters, Emmaline Napier, of Miamisburg, Ohio, Faye Greco, of Louisville, Kentucky, Bessie Jean Holley, and Gail Stone, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Maxine Vice, of Winchester, Kentucky, and Brenda Lee, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Miranda Lynn Keeton, and her husband, Ryan, Erica Shea Aldredge, Aaron James Tedesco, and Jenna Lee Tedesco, and three great grandchildren, Madison Railey Keeton, Lauren Caroline Keeton, and Abigail Grace Keeton.
