R Wilson (2/17/2006) The mud slinging that has already started in this county is appalling but still does not suprise me. I have talked with a few sheriff candidates that are actually family members. The only candidate that did not try to bad mouth the other is now the one that I feel I will vote for. He said that he would not say anything bad about the others. He stated his platform and said that he felt he was the most qualified for that office. He told me to examine each candidate before I made a descision and that in the end he felt I would agree with him. I respect someone that stands on their qualifications and ideas rather than trying to destory others. Thank you Scott Duncan for not stooping to the level and maliciousness of other candidates. ?????????? (2/16/2006) Franf Gowin would make a good sherriff!!!!!!!!!! Frank is a good man. Even if he was just a volunter. At least you can tell he was not in it for the green. Frank is a very honest man that would not put a difference between your family and his. I have known Mike Montgomery for 20+yrs and i do no for a fact he is a VERY honest man. Mike's job with the ambulance service has nothing to do with him being a DANG GOOD CONSTABLE, I no what kind of person Mike is and i don't see him ever being dishonest !!! (2/4/2026) it seems like the reason everyone sells drugs in this county is because there aren't any jobs. 90% of the county is on disability and the only reason is -no jobs- hell if i dont get a job soon i might act like i'm psycho or have back problems and get a check and medical card every month. those two disability problems are easily proven true. yea some people do really need disability and all but most don't, if most of them aint buying drugs to take with the money, they are buying drugs to sell with it. this county needs a big change. There is so many people running. We are citizens who have the right to vote need to do our own background searches on these individuals. Check these other men out too. One that is running for judge has a wife who is a cancer survivor and while on chemo. had to push mow her yard because her loving husband didn't want to or wouldn't even pay someone to come do it so she didn't have to. Is that what you want for a County Judge? Our Judge/or ex-judge plays favorites when his family was in court over a step father beating a child with witnesses to the beatings, but of course nothing was done to the step dad.....You figure out who this one is....You will be suprised. Background the canidates for Sheriff...one had shot and killed someone...one goes to the bar/beer joint...you can call one and he NEVER shows up, just giggles about the drug traffic going on....one was a Sheriff in the past and pulled females over to flirt and ended up getting one pregnant, and as far as the one with the MOST CHILDREN GOES...GIVE ME A BREAK, that has nothing to do with being sheriff. Honestly check these people out, don't just vote for them because they are family, spouse's, in-laws, or just your buddies. Pick the best and most honest one for the job. Get to know all of them from thier families, their neighbors, and from personal experience. Write down the information you collect and compare these people. Our future of the county depends on it. We have the chance to make things better. If you don't vote, DON'T COMPLAIN. Lisa Price (1/31/2006) You know it looks like the problem Freddie Clark has is that everyone wants to put him down for doing his job when he was a deputy, All i can figure out is that he put alot of people in jail for drugs and alcohol use and stayed out trying to keep are roads safe for are families and friends to be on. I have noticed that one of the deputies i think goes by 7406, every thing he say's he alway's put's ( same as ) before it. for example, when he run's a tag or tell's what he has on a traffic stop, he will say "tag number same as" and then give the number.he say's this with everything, can someone please tell me what in the world he mean's by SAME AS ???? maybe no one else has noticed this but it is driving me crazy to here SAME AS ALL THE TIME. I as a person of this community with a family of my own understand the importance of frequent patrolling and quick response time to all calls. I am dedicated to having the fastest response time. I will be their to serve and protect the community of District 4 with fast and efficient response. I will work closely with all law enforcement. I know that drugs are not the only problem here, but unfortunately it is the worst. I will address this problem with zero tolerance. As one person I can make only a small difference, but we as a community will make all the difference. As for my education I do have a high school diploma and one year of college in law enforcement and some experience. I would appreciate your vote. Expect no change until people vote for candidates based on vision and integrity NOT blind party affiliation, what their last names are or who they are related to. And for the kook who still thinks the drug problem in the county is 'pot', WAKE UP! You're living in the fifties. Meth is the problem now. Its so cheap and addictive I don't see any way of stopping it. Pot is harmless compared to this stuff. BTW- anyone else think its funny when most of the county is broke, on SSI or food stamps, yet they proudly claim to be Republicans? If it were up to Republicans, ther'd be no SSI, Food Stamps, Unemployment or any other entitlements. (1/24/2006) i think we've all seen little milfords signs "Give A Young Man A Chance".he's trying very hard, being in on all the raids, seizing peoples personal belongings (putting half of it in his basement...), and sucking his way in. um...does he have any training? NOT. it must be nice to have a lot of friends that can fill him in on all the drug deals. honestly, the last few raids have been based on evidense from a confidential informent. no names mentioned. well i thought that any informent had to stand before the accused in a court of law and present substantial evidense. i think putting the words confidential informent on paper isn't enough. most of the raids are based on hearsay. even though they dont find anything illegal they want to seize your scanner, computer, radio, tools, firearms or whatever-for no reason. its really hard to get things back when seized. theres so much money involved its almost not worth it. it shouldn't work like that. i know first hand. i've NEVER had to go to court over a stupid raid a while back BUT my stuff is still gone. oh and I have every last receipt for the items. it obviously doesn't matter. Questions should be asked to all the candidates~ What is your highest level of grade completed? Are you a high school graduate? Do you have any special training in the law enforcement field? Do you know the laws of the Commonwealth & the County? And what is your stand on our deputies & volunteer deputies, do you plan on having them trained, doing full back ground checks, and making sure they are knowledgeable in human interactions, the laws mentioned above, traffic safety, etc.. I feel we as McCrearyians have a right to know the answer's to all the questions I asked. I invite all the canidates to make their answers known to the voters, & media of our county. Maybe if we can get some of these questions answered, that will help us as voter's to make the right decision in helping to improve this great county we live in.
