King brothers face death in robbery slaying
By JANIE SLAVEN
Record Staff Writer

WHITLEY CITY Two brothers, accused of killing a man for less than $100, may pay for the crime with their lives.
Ricky King (also known as Ricky Neal), 32, and Rocky King, 29, both of Strunk, were indicted yesterday for capital murder in connection with the December 15 shooting death of Sloans Valley resident Morris Ray King (no relation).
Capital murder carries the possibility of a death sentence.
The King brothers, who had in police interviews accused each other of shooting the victim with his own gun, are each charged with one count of capital murder.
The indictment also charges Ricky King (AKA Neal) with Criminal Complicity to Commit the Capital Offense of Murder when he assisted Rocky King in murdering Morris Ray King while in the course of robbing him. Rocky King is charged with the same offense, only he is accused of assisting Ricky King in the murder.
Three co-defendants Harold King, 62, Whitley City; Danny L. Bryant, 47, Whitley City; and Kimberlly Dalton, 31, Winfield, TN were also charged with Criminal Complicity To Commit the Capital Offense of Murder by assisting Ricky King a/k/a Ricky Neal and/or Rocky King in murdering Morris Ray King while in the course of robbing him.
Harold King is the father of Ricky and Rocky King.
All five defendants were indicted for first-degree robbery for using physical force on Morris Ray King in order to accomplish the theft and in the course of the theft killed Morris Ray King.
Morris King was found the morning of December 16 dead in his vehicle, which was parked on Murray Wilson Cemetery Road south of Pine Knot. Kentucky State Police Detective Billy Correll led the investigation with witness testimony placing all involved at the same Winfield tavern on the night of December 15. The victim is reported to have purchased drinks for at least some of the patrons.
According to the Death Penalty Information Center, Kentucky law allows the death penalty for two offenses: Murder and kidnaping. Both require aggravating factors (the crime must occur during the commission of another crime).
The grand jury also returned indictments against:
Robert W. Jones, Strunk first-degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (Oxycodone). The charge stems from a September 14, 2005, investigation by Det. Correll.
Billy J. Terry, 41 first-degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine). The charge stems from an October 30, 2025 investigation by McCreary County Deputy Joe Horne.
David R. Vanover, 41 first-degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (OxyContin). The charge stems from a May 30 investigation by Dep. Horne.
Gene Cooper AKA Miller, 40, and Robin Honeycutt, 41, both of John Henry Perry Road Trafficking in Marijuana Over Eight Ounces but less than five pounds and first-degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance. The charges stem from a December 4, 2025 investigation where Dep. Horne found the pair with 15.8 ounces of marijuana and 17 Oxycodone tablets. Cooper is additionally charged with second-degree Persistent Felony Offender after being convicted in 2000 on one count of firearm possession in federal court.
Rodney Jones, 31 first-degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (glass pipe). The charges stem from a December 11, 2004, investigation by the Lake Cumberland Area Drug Task Force.
Charles Jones, Whitley City first-degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine). The charge stems from a December 1, 2005, investigation by the Lake Cumberland Area Drug Task Force.
Michael R. Barnett, Stearns Criminal Possession of Forged Prescription and second-degree Persistent Felony Offender. On December 22, 2005, Barnett possessed a prescription which had been altered to include Lortab 10. Barnett was previously convicted for receiving stolen property in 2001.
Luther Ball, 53, Marlow Lane second-degree assault. On November 27, 2005, Ball stabbed Glen Stephens with a knife.
Austin L. Perry, Stearns Receiving Stolen Property of a value of $300 or more. On December 14, 2005, Perry possessed a Whirlpool stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer as well as a bedroom group reported stolen from Rent-A-Center.
Lee Conway Crabtree, Parkers Lake Receiving Stolen Property of a value of $300 or more. On January 9, Crabtree had a PSE hunting bow reported stolen from Beth Canada.
John T. Smith, 26, Parkers Lake second-degree Persistent Felony Offender. Smith was charged with evading police last year after being convicted of attempted murder in Tennessee in 2003.

Readers are reminded that an indictment is an accusation and should not be considered evidence of guilt.

Like I have wrote in the passed I have lost a father in a simlar way so I do know how you feel,But I also know that I did NOT want an innocent person to be sentenced and the REAL SHOOTER or KILLER to be set free. Or to have less time. I think they need to investgate more and to look more at Ricky and Danny than anyone. From what i have heard they are the ones that where in the mans car well thats just hear say but thats what is floating arounf in the county.

CountryGirl (2/20/2006)
To Texas / Kentucky Family I just want to say Thank you for the strong advise you placed. I for one am tired of people getting on here acting as if their state is better than another. When in fact, there are good and bad things that happen know matter where you live. Now let me add, I fully agree that ALL of our Law enf. could use a brain, but the law here doesn't speak for SOME of us whom live here. We know how bad it is and would love to see a great turn around. They are the primary ones who make rest of us look as stupid as the law is here. Remember: BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE TOO.

just me (2/20/2006)
i know u are from mccreary county and it dont suprise me at all, or you woudnt be laughing--so laugh on.. it dont hurt me one bit...that just shows have much respect u people have for one another.

KYMAN (2/18/2006)
you dont know me and you dont know what I know about these people. I feel being related to some of those people in Mcreary county does sorta give me an edge on knowing them and how they are, and I will respond the way I feel when I read those ignorant comments that spew from them, that is my right. You shouldnt be to ashamed of me, us texans say whats on our mind, you know that, you do it yourself and I respect that. Well Ive gotta go to bed now, you know, I gotta get some rest from WORKING ALL DAY.

TO PERMATURE REMARKS (2/18/2006)
from harold king's family. WE are not SCUM and we are notTRASH. but how would you know.cause if you knowed us you would know.it makes me sick for people on here that dont know the family just keeps putting every one down.yes i know it is realy hard on morris king's family to{im sorry}but i do know that me and the rest of our family well stand with them all in court and out.but no matter witch way this go's they will pay when the time comes....so if you dont know dont JUDGE US

(2/17/2006)
To Just Me....Innocent my butt, if these so called wonderful people are innocent then they wouldn't of been a killing huh.... So being you think they are innocent is a big laugh.... and its a laugh that makes your butt hurt...

Texas/Kentucky Family (2/17/2006)
Steve, who are you? I was born and raised in Texas and my father was born and raised in McCreary County. I feel my bloodline runs both places. As for your trashy comments, etc.. you have no idea what you are talking about with Denise, Tracy, Texas or Kentucky. You talk of welfare, etc. Obviously you don't have enough to do with your time that you have to search the internet to find the most hurting people you can find and blow your mouth off at them. If you are from Texas, I am ashamed of you. If you were a TRUE Texan you would know respect for others feelings, you would know that you need to get a job to fill your time or go and help someone like the folks that cannot help themselves. You are not helping here and do not know what you are talking about. This is my family on here, you are representing the State I love, and judging the State my father was born in and I don't take to kindly to that. We have all lost family members, whether it be by god, or at the hands of another, but that does not give you the right to play judge. Take a look at your own pathetic life before you try to judge others. I would also like to suggest you move North as true southern folks don't act like you. Hope you have a nice day as you move on. Thanks

The Truth Hurts (2/17/2006)
When u take a life, it shows u have NO RESPECT for Anyones Life! The Victims Family has my prayers and sympathy...Also the Families of the Kings...You Cant blame these families for the actions of these people.. Let JUSTICE BE SERVED and Punish those Responsible! My Family Too has lost a precious Young Woman who was dear to us...and the young man Accused (and later convicted) was charged with this Crime with the possibile Punishment of "Death"...After long consideration, the Family realized that "Death" Sometimes isnt the Answer... Death Row 23 1/2 hr. Lockdown...Can go on for YEARS...Some of the Family may not LIVE to see the Punishment fullfilled..and What Worries Do they have UNTIL its Time To DIE, Then its appeal after appeal..Punishing the Family Further...My family chose 'LIFE IN PRISON'..and i feel its a good choice.. That Young Man i Speak of, has had several 'run ins' with some of the Bubba's in there and now wears a Colostomy Bag... I dont doubt that Everyday he lives, he Remembers his Crime, and He Regrets what HE has done....but he is there For the Rest of His LIFE! That Doesnt bring my family Member Back...But it does Assure us that he will NEVER do it again.

KYMAN (2/16/2006)
Hey I happen to like the premature remarks, as most people know you dont want to commit this type of crime in Texas or even be associated with this, there serious about protecting and there punishments there, and thats the way it should be. As for Denise and tracy, I'll just have to appologize for them, there probably on food stamps and government checks, you know, left wingers.

(2/16/2006)
Of the King bros. I think that the guilty one needs to fess up, and the other one needs to be punished for letting it haappen in the first place. GIVE MORRIS KINGS FAMILY CLOSURE,,,to what really happened that night. The Kings and the others that were there that night need to all be punished for their crimes. WHAT WOULD YOU WANT IF IT WAS YOUR GRANDPA, DAD, SON, BROTHER,UNCLE,NEPHEW, OR EVEN HUSBAND??? justice must be served!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To: the grandchild (2/16/2006)
I agree with your statement to an extent. I have also lost a loved one in the same way you have. I mean tore right out from under me so quickly that it took a few days for reality to really sit in. I do agree that they are ALL are guilty and they all deserve hard time, but don't you think that only the one that pulled the trigger deserves DEATH! I'm NOT upholding for any of these men or the woman that has also been charged with the same crime. I read in another statement on the other page (kings finger each other) that everyone has forgotten about Kimberly, I do beleive they are correct. I havent heard anything else about the woman since someone on here wrote that they would like to know more about her. Seems to me that the police department along with Billy Correll needs a little help from someone that has a little knowledge than whats floating around in our department. So if you know anyone from up that way thats willing to help our department in anyway send them on down cause we really need it.

TO THE MORRIS KING FAMILY (2/16/2006)
i am so sorry for your loss and your pain. my prayers and sympathy goes out to all of everyone in this family, in a time of need. may god be with you.

did u know (2/16/2006)
the one that wrote to all you guys 2/9/06 is 15 years old she loves her uncle but i want to know does it make you feel good to put a kid down a friend told me about this web sight [tonya howard]now she is married we have been friends 4 ever i would lay my life down 4her and she would 4 me i have been there 4 her and her 4 me les was her grand father and iam harolds sister we will always be best friends my oldest sons great uncle was roy bryant y i am writting this cause it needs to stop or watch alittle more what is said cause now our children is getting on here mccreary is not that bad my older kids went to school there 1 is a nurse 1is a manger of astore 1 is a truck driver and i also guduated there but cause of bad memorys moved away 1 sisterhit and killed yrs. ago father died 3 brothers dead another sister dead mother died when i was 8 dad and my brothers and siters raised me our dad was a coal miner all his life andif u knew him u loved him o wasnt going to get on here till i found out my youngest daughter was on here and remarks was made ithought u might want to know it was a kid i am sure this want make a difference cause some of u are cold hearted

Premature remarks (2/16/2006)
Denise, you are the deluded one. Before you flip out on Texas and the people here, you need to keep up with the times. Andrea Yates was moved to an institution only for the time being. She has an appeals process to go thru. That does not mean she will stay there. Second of all, have you ever lived in Texas? Clean your own door step before you try to clean ours. We have crime here the same as anywhere else, but per capita your crime rate is 10 times higher than ours and you could put McCreary County in downtown Houston. Third, I don't care who you are, if you take a life, someday you will pay for it. Seems to me that the "SCUM" is lining McCreary County thicker than it is lining Texas. And to the Harold King family, I have said what I wanted to the faces of those who were there when different things happened. Your family or the name King does not affect me one way or the other. You can tell that the next generation is growing up like the past generations. Trashy!

To all, (2/15/2006)
I see a lot of you defending the king boys. People saying they are possibly innocent, that they may not have done it. Well speaking as a grand child of Morris Ray King. I sincerely hope they all burn in hell, and reap the whirl wind of their actions. To lose someone to death in this manner should never be felt by anyone. I think this was devastating to all parties involved. I don't want anyone to think that I only see my families pain. I understand these folks all have families, and I feel for them. When the time comes I will be sorry for their loss. Justice needs to be served. Thank you, and goodnight!

just me (2/14/2006)
there is more in there than just a verse..why dont you read the book.

looking around (2/14/2006)
i totally agree with the statement from what do u think on the 2/13/2006.. i know these guys and i also know this is a cime but i really feel they are innocent but someone here is gulity somewhere...

to whom it may concern (2/14/2006)
the whole thing about this town is so twisted and digusting to me. it was put on the front page a few years back, how just almost every one in this county makes their living and most make it fake imperessions and they usually are doing something illegal to provide for their families... the way the city or whoever runs this town is just as crooked as the rest.. and by the way they dont care about anyone.. it is a poor town and a poor place to live and raise children.. only live here if u love drugs and dont care about life in general...and especially if u dont want to live very long..the schools dont care about the kids and they just put everyone through the school system and when they come out they end up like everyone else in this place--where they dont have any values and sure dont know how to read or write and dont know right from wrong!!!! and there u have it, do some investagating and get someone in the office who knows what to do and do it...no death is ever investagated up their the right way and then its all swept under the carpet, i know because i lost my husband while we had been their 2 months and i finally after 2 years got enough sense to come back home to the real world.. i would only visit now.. and no one not even no one has any respect for anyone in this town.. they are all about who the officals are and making money for theirselves and breaking everyone else. it dont matter who they hurt while doing it.. may god bless everyone and hope the real truth comes out before its too late,here..

what do you think? (2/13/2006)
There is alot of people that seem to think that these young men are being charged with a crime that they did not commit. I do understand that these men are guilty for being at the scene when the crime took place, but please... I seem to think that these men are covering for their father. I do understand that these men shouldn't be covering for anyone or each other they are putting everyone elses lives at risk for the death penalty, but if this is the case why should the innocent not the killer go to prison to set on death row or sent for the death penalty? Just because everyone else sees that Harold King is a mean, dishonest man, doesnt mean that his children see this part of him. I think that this needs to be investgated more and I have also heard that these men has told people that they are innocent and that they dont want to send their father to prison because he is elderly and sickly. If this is the case then all of them need to come clean and speak the truth, and I do hope that these men start telling the truth. So if you know something about this situation will you please come forth and speak up so two young men that can be saved and can receive help, get the correct punshiment. No I'm not saying that these men are totally inocent, cause they were of course there, but they do not deserve the death penalty if they are not the killers. Please help solve this cause this law enforcement surly need the help.

frustrated (2/13/2006)
To Just Me.... you people and trying to quote the Bible is ridiculous... read a little further and you will see exactly what the verse pertains to. We all have to be judged for the things we do. Good grief... enough already. Denise said it right

Sometimes the system works (2/12/2025)
Last summer I was tipped off that I was going too be robbed and possibly murdered in Tenn. By a couple of ex-cons on parole. I won't go into detail, but I reported the tip off too KSP and Dept of Corrections. A few weeks later, the two who was planning the crimes was jailed for parole violations and returned too Correctional Facilities up north. The tip info given too KSP and Dept Corrections led too investigations on the two, that resulted into their arrests for other crimes of robbery, fraud and drugs.

denise (2/11/2025)
I forgot one thing... To all of the people out there who have lost loved ones to violent crimes... there are advocates out there who help the family of the deceased. There is help and justice, it's just that sometimes you have to pursue it to the max.

denise (2/11/2025)
To Country Girl...thank you. I figured I would make a lot of people mad because we live in such a liberal society. What everyone fails to realize is that we live in a country where due process and a fair trial are basic rights granted to all of us in America. The Kings will get both. And what about the victim's family? I hear ranting and raving from the members of the King family, but I don't hear anything about the victim's family. They lost a loved one to a violent death, and often times, they are forgotten. Or worse yet, when the trial comes around, the victim is the one who goes on trial. Our justice system is designed to protect the innocent and prosecute the guilty, but there are a lot of faults in the system, as well. I can only hope that the perpetrators involved in this crime will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

IN RESPONSE (2/10/2026)
The only thing dead here is Morris King. You said in an earlier statement that your family only intended to rob Mr. King not murder him. Why would you want to talk in person? So you can reflect some more of the King violence? Sticking to your own family means not robbing or murdering another ones family member. If you are the future Kings, with your violence and the violence that your Uncle has shown, your right, this is not going to be a good place to live, it will be ROTTEN.

just me (2/10/2026)
it says in the bible,do not judge.

TO ALL OF YOU GUYS (2/9/2026)
This what I see you guys are just looking for someone to put down you are tired of your own nasty lives so you start on my dear uncle what ever you guys are just looking for something to argue about well this is what I think, THE WHOLE KENTUCKY STATE IS ROTTEN I use to love ky but now I don't so much you people need to open your eyes and see whats dead in front of you, my uncle is innocient whether you want to admit it or not. You think he's a bad person you think were evil whatever. You people think were bad look in the mirror. I don't like my family being put down. So if you have something to say take it to the our faces. You want to talk behind our backs to me you people are nothing but chickens. Scared to live you life so you start to blame anyone well to me that is low, no thats lower than low. I mean i use to think maybe we could all just keep to our own families, but here's the facts of life there is big fat liers such as some people (giving no names) but you know we are nice people and we don't like our family being drove into the ground by your sick and digusting comments. So if you ask me you guys are no better than us so whatever you say is practically talking about yourself to. I am the future generation of the kings and i hope you take my comment to reason.

CountryGirl (2/9/2026)
Alright denise !!!! YOU GO GIRL ! No one else could have said it any better. We need you on here more often.

denise (2/9/2026)
It seems like there is always a link between drugs and the crimes that are being committed. People are stealing and killing for their drug habits. And I get so sick of criminals claiming that they were out of their minds because they were under the influence of drugs or whatever at the time they committed their crime. We all have the ability to choose between right and wrong, and if someone chooses to get high or drunk and kills someone, then that's the choice they made. People are also sick of criminals blaming their family situation on the reason why they became drug abusers and alcoholics. There have been many people that have came out of horrible lives, being beaten every day, starved, tortured, you name it, but they decided that they were not going to let that life dictate their future. They have become hard-working, law abiding citizens. I also realize that there are kids who come form the best of homes, and they turn into habitual criminals. It goes both ways. What I'm trying to say is that we are all accountable for our actions. What justification is there in killing a man for 100 dollars? I think they got a thrill out of doing it, and that's even more disturbing. But I wouldn't be surprised if someone makes a deal, and they all won't even have to spend the rest of their lives in prison. I personally think it should be a death penalty case, just because of the circumstances. By the way, to the deluded person from Texas... You think it can't happen in Texas? That the Kings would be put to death if this happened in Texas? Are you blind? What about Andrea Yates, the scum that drowned all of her kids in a bathtub? Are you aware of the fact that she will be spending the rest of her life in an institution? Not a prison, or on death row where she belongs, but in a crazy house, where Texans will be footing her bill for the rest of her miserable life.

Answer to Why (2/8/2026)
TO WHY: This is in this section of the news paper. According to the Death Penalty Information Center, Kentucky law allows the death penalty for two offenses: Murder and kidnaping. Both require aggravating factors (the crime must occur during the commission of another crime). I guess the man that killed your father got off so easy in McCreary County because it is not bad enough to commit one crime, you have to commit two at the same time to be eligible for the death penalty. I am sorry for your loss. We too lost a family memeber in that county.

KYMAN (2/7/2026)
Of course he should have gotten the death penalty, murder is murder, and I stand on that firmly, for you and for the other families, were all sorry for the tragedy in your life.

WHY? is the question (2/7/2026)
I have read in the past comments and statements that these men deserve the death penalty for killing a innocent man. Well My father was murdered July 2003, When we started going to court my family and I had been told that my fathers murder case would be an open and shut case. Well it wasnt. The court lead on for several months and still nothing became of the situation at this time, by this time we had finially gotten another attorney due to some issues between the commonwealth and the acussed's attorney, By that time the acussed was sentenced to 9 years in prison, and he is getting out of prison this month. This man has only served 1 1/2 years in jail. I would truely like to know what the difference is between these men that are charged and the man that took my fathers life. In my eyes there isnt any. I don't agree with the courts sentencing but what can anyone do? Which is too late now, I have only heard DEATH PENALTY in this situation WHY wasn't the DEATH PENALTY mentioned when my father was murdered? It seems to me that the only time the DEATH PENALTY is even mentioned in a murder case is when the defendant/family has money to burn, or when the defendants family is good drinking buddies with someone in the court. Why is it that some get justice and some doesn't? From my understanding the investigator doesn't have any evidence (weapon, fingerprints, footprints) just what they are acussing each other of. With the murder of my father they had the killer he confessed of wanting/thinking and was there fighting with him don't you all think that this man that killed my father should come closer getting the death penalty then these men? I DO THINK SO...

THIS HAS TO STOP (2/7/2026)
WE AS A COUNTRY HAVE TO THINK ABOUT THE NEXT GENERATION COMING UP AND WE NEED TO DO SOMETIHNG ABOUT THIS DRUG AND KILLING PROBLEM. THIS HAPPENS EVERY WHERE. WE HAVE TO STOP THIS FOR THE KIDS.I HAVE 3 KIDS AND THIS SCARES ME TO THINK MY KIDS HAVE TO GROW UP IN A WORLD LIKE THIS.

A mother (2/6/2026)
I know the king's personally and even have a child by one. I thank it is about time Ricky gets what he has coming to him. He has done wrong all his life and finally got caught and deserves the death penalty for taking a mans life for no reason at all. Why should they be able to go on with there life when Morris can not. Morris family will suffer for the rest of there life. The kings have beaten people up and gotten by with it for years.

KYMAN (2/5/2026)
To someone: I think you got it, stealing from people at gun point should also carry the death penalty, now that would reduce alot of crime, no doubt in my mind. Hey Tracy, it's bite me, not bit me.

Tracy troxell (Bryant) (2/4/2026)
To someone BIT ME !!!!!!

Curious (2/3/2026)
This is to Unknown dated 01/31/06 when you said, "i know that they did pull the trigger but hey what ya think when a couple of so called wifes get out and do that they are no better that the men." If you know that they did pull the trigger, as you stated, then why don't you come forward and stop all this and tell the truth.

rhonda (2/3/2026)
Surely you can not blame what these people done (if they done it) on there girlfriends. That is the biggest bunch of bull that I have read so far.

JS (2/2/2026)
Reply to unknown, if all the husbands of McCreary County went out and killed someone because their wifes and girlfriends were not at home fulfilling their wifely duties, them half the county would be in the cemetery, how can you blame the wifes/girlfriends of these cold blooded KILLERS, the wifes did not control what happen that night the Kings did.

MCcreary county citizen (2/1/2026)
I think if you there when it happend and you knew it was going to happen you deserve the same punishment as the shooter but thats my opinion

CountryGirl (2/1/2026)
Well the way i see it is, if they were so afraid of their stupid, evil, twisted dad, then they shouldn't have been at a bar with him drinking. Drinking just encourages wrong behavior. That entire family drinks and fights enough to know that. They were all grown ups here not poor misread little boys and girls. Please people, we're are not all stupid here just because we live in McCreary county. one more thing, it is tue that the police can solve drug deals but cant solve a murder for nothing.

unknown (1/31/2006)
To begin with, both of these men are very well known and well liked by several people. Rocky worked hard everyday to have what he has/had. I know that if both Ricky and Rocky's girlfriend and wife was at home where they belonged and was acting like a wife/girlfriend instead of out cheating/stealing/and doing drugs then maybe these men wouldnt be in this mess. I think that the wemon should be charged as well as the men. i know that they did pull the trigger but hey what ya think when a couple of so called wifes get out and do that they are no better that the men.

Bologna is now ROTTEN!! (1/31/2006)
The bologna is now rotten!!,Well if I had murdered someone,I would be man enough to own up to it.I wouldn't point my finger at my own flesh and blood over something stupid that I had done.I wouldn't want my own flesh and blood receive either life in prison or receive the death penalty over something so foolish that I had done.1 of them are guilty of pulling the trigger, but actually they are all guilty because they all took part in it,I have not seen or heard anywhere that any of them were trying to stop the other one.If they didn't get it in their stupid heads of theirs to begin with to rob this man, they wouldn't be in the stupid mess they are in now. When you plan something so ignorant such as this, you reap what you sow.Everyone of them are nothing but cowards and I wouldn't believe anyone of them cause they have lied on each other. They were a big happy family when they were drinking with each other,so try explain to me why they aren't such a big happy family now??,and please throw that rotten bologna away!!

(relating to the comment 1-29-06) (1/31/2006)
Steve in Texas, How can you be so certain that this type of mess would not happen in Texas? Obviously you need to look a little more into the documents there. This could happen in anyones home town not only McCreary County. Why should all get the death penalty for something that only one could have done? Maybe the others are telling the truth, and the one that is gulity is afraid of confessing. I do honestly think that the one that shot Morris King does deserve the DEATH PENALTY but why take everyone else down with him?

T0: CRAZY (1/31/2006)
I agree with you 100% and then some. I recall the beating of Danny that they are relating to, the beating took place several years back. From my understanding Danny lived with Harold King and has lived with the accussed for several years. Danny and all that are acccussed has shared many times together. Therefore if Danny thought Harold King was gulity of his beating that left him near death, I'm sure no one in their right mind would live with the person that just about killed him.

someone (1/31/2006)
if they would rob someone they deserve to die as well in my opinion

Crazy (1/30/2006)
This is so crazy! If Danny was beaten and left for death by one of them, then why did he continue to hang out with them?? Out of fear... Please..

Bologna hell ! (1/30/2006)
Dont tell me that if you and your siblings were in the same situation as the Kings that you would not point fingers if you were the innocent one(not the shooter)if your life was on the line. The reason he is confessing of being at the wrong place at the wrong time is because he is trying to make up for his mistakes and being a responsible adult by telling who is the gulity one and trying to save himself and the innocent. Rocky admits of witnessing the crime and not reporting it when he should have and he takes full responsiblty for his actions and states that he deserves to serve hard time but does NOT deserve the death penalty!

Dear, Friend (1/30/2006)
I have just read your statement regarding Ricky King. I cant help but wonder why you would say not to lash out at him, unless we know the whole story. With that statement i can't help but wonder if you know a little more of the story than the rest of us. The only way that I can figure is that you have either talked to one of the accussed and they have shared undocumented infomation or did you witness the crime?

A Friend (1/30/2006)
I know Ricky and it is hard to belive he could ever shoot anyone. And for the people who are lashing out at him dont be so quick to judge him without knowing the whole story,

Steve in Texas (1/29/2006)
Obviously one of them killed Morris. If they can't be honest, then let both of them die. This wouldn't happen in Texas. I'm glad my family moved out of this crooked county.

Disgusted (1/27/2006)
I agree your whole system needs a drastic change, but you have an election soon.--Instead of voting for someone because they are a friend or a relative, let yourself be bothered to research their qualificatiions & hold them accountable after they are elected.Things will change when enough people stand up,turn in the drug delers & murders, when you are tired of the good old boy society, only the people of your county can change it by voting.---Why is it my business, I don`t live in your county or even your state?????? It`s because I`ve left a part of me there when some of your druggies murdered my son & I don`t intend to stop until I find them & see they are punished.

I think it's about time that we started seeing some real justice in the county.I had a good friend of mine, the father of my children who was shot in the back and his murder went to court and got sentenced to 14 years in prision. He got a new trial 6 months ago and until this day he is out walkin the street waiting to go back to trial do you think justice was served i dont.I think that if these boys did the crime they should do the time.We need to start setting an example in this county.Show people that taking a life is giving up your on and then maybe the killings will stop. Most of the time you get more time on drug charges then you do for cold blooded murder.I think that it's time for this to change dont you?

Bologna!! (1/26/2006)
Hard to believe, you must not know Rocky King very well then. Why did he confess being there then, that doesn't make any sense if he wouldn't hurt anybody, that doesn't make any sense that he would point his own finger at his brother. That is just full of bologna!

A friend of the King kids (1/24/2006)
Also...I know that Danny Bryant was beaten and left for dead by Harold King and I truly believe that the night Morris King was murdered that Danny was caught in a situation as to were he too feared for his life. Danny truly knows what Harold King is capable of.

A friend of the King kids (1/24/2006)
Will the real truth ever come out?? How could both brothers be charged with the murder? I feel as if Harold King is very capable of killing a man in cold blood and I truly feel there is more to his involvment as the shooter then what is being told. Personally I think the others are afraid of Harold King and have been threatened by him and so the boys are covering for him. I don't know for sure but I wish the real truth would come out!

Hard to beleive (1/24/2006)
Its so hard to beleive that these two men are being charged with this type of crime. I have known these men for years and I never thought in a million years that they could do such horror. I have been with these men time after time and both men would help you in anyway possible. They also would get the shirt right off their backs for someone if needed. I remember a time when a person was im desperate need of money, food and clothing and Rocky King took his whole pay check that he worked hard for and just handed the money right over to them. Rocky has money not alot that I am aware of but if someone has money then why would they rob someone. Cause he didnt and he wouldn't. The only things that are being written are the bad side of these men not the good. See young people what drugs can do to you. Only if Ricky's family would have only helped him recover from the drug problem that he had, then they all wouldnt be in this situation. I truly beleive that Rocky King didnt pull that trigger that night and only if the one that did do it would confess then we all would know, then again we all could get a surprise. God Bless you wonderful people.

NEED TO DO SOME TEST (1/24/2006)
You know as well as I that only one of those men could have took the life of Morris King. I do not think that all or both men should have to pay with their own life if they didnt commit the crime. I do understand that all was involved and all should get Jail time, but only one should get death not all and thats the one that pulled the trigger. I also think that the law enforcement need to do the test that checks for gun powder ( powder burns stay on you for months even after you wash your hands) to prove who shot Morris King. Thats the only way to sentence to death the correct one. If both or all show postive for powder then sentence them then, but its only right for the correct ones to go to jail for life.

CONCERNED (1/24/2006)
I PERSONALLY AM GLAD TO SEE THAT ALL THESE PEOPLE ARE FINALLY GETTING CAUGHT.I HOPE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM GETS WHAT THEY DESERVE. I HAVE CHILDREN AND I CAN TELL YOU IF I EVER FOUND OUT THAT ANY OF THESE PIECES OF CRAP SOLD TO MY KIDS OR EVEN GAVE THEM ANY TYPE OF DRUG I'LL BE ON THE FRONT PAGE SHACKLED FROM HEAD TO TOE IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. DRUGS ARE RUNNING CRAZY IN THE COUNTY AND ITS HIGH TIME GOOD HARD WORKING CITIZENS TAKE A STAND. RODNEY JONES IS RELATED TO ME AND HE IS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF CRAP GOD PUT ON THIS EARTH THAT DOESNT TAKE CARE OF ANY OF HIS CHILDREN NOR DOES HE SUPPORT THEM OR EVER WILL. WHY YOU ASK..... HE IS TO BUSY BUYING DOPE AND GLASS PIPES. I HOPE THIS TIME HE DOESN'T GET AWAY WITH IT BECAUSE HE IS HURTING MCCREARY CO BY LIVING IT IN WE SHOULD AT LEAST MAKE HIM LIVE IN A CELL WHERE HE BELONGS AND WE ALL KNOW IT WETHER SOME WANT TO ADMIT IT OR NOT.

WHY DOES IT MATTER (1/24/2006)
THEY ALL DESERVE WHAT THEY GET,THERE WAS A FEW INDICTED BY THE GRANDJURY THAT NEEDS TO BE PUT UNDER THE JAIL,THEY HAVE ALL BEEN IN TROUBLE BEFORE AND SEEMS THAT THEY GET OUT OF IT BY EITHER BY PAYING THEIR WAY OUT OR OTHER THINGS THAT CAN'T BE SAID ON HERE,RODNEY JONES IS THE MAIN ONE,IF YOU LOOK BACK THROUGH RECORDS HOW MANY TIMES HAS HE BEEN IN TROUBLE AND GOTTEN BY WITH IT,HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALREADY IN JAIL,IF YOU ALL WOULD PUT HIM THERE THIS THINGS WOULDN'T KEEP HAPPEN....HE HAS BEEN IN TROUBLE FOR DUI,DRUGS.HE HAS BEEN SHOT,STABBED WHAT MORE DO YOU ALL NEED TO RELIZE HE IS TROBLE.....PUT A STOP TO IT!!!
