R.L. Bryant, 69, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, following a short illness. He as born Jan. 3, 1937, in Zenith, Tenn., and raised in Whitley City. He met his wife of 40 years, Linda, in Sidney, Ohio, and they moved to Somerset 25 years ago. He is survived by his wife, Linda Bryant; a son, Kerwin (and Brenda) Bryant; an 8-year-old granddaughter, Nicole, of Chicago, Ill; his mother, Beatrice Bryant, Daytona Beach, Fla.; two brothers, J.C. (and Diane) Bryant and Joe (and Sandy) Bryant, both of Daytona Beach; two sisters, Jean (and Gary) Stephens and Ruth (and Bill) Scott, both of Somerset; nine nieces and nephews; and 13 great-grandnieces and nephews.
